New skirt –
Tanned the hide and sewed the skirt for my dear sister
Grateful to have another member of the family wearing buckskins and praying around the sacred fire

The other day While biking to yoga with my son- I found a road kill deer in the middle of the bike path
We pulled it off the path and said prayers and blessed it’s soul

Then I came home and got my knife
I Returned to the deer and harvested the hide and meat for our family
Being a medicine carrier means that you know how to hold all of the aspects of the medicine

Wearing buckskin clothing and tanning hides is a privilege and there is a responsibility to honor the spirit of the deer and make use of all parts of the animal

I’m in the process of tanning the hide and then will sew something with it

I have been looking for hides and asking around-
Hunter friends- if you have any let me know
It’s Amazing how you put yourself out there-
Tell the universe you are willing to work and then to
receive this sacred blessing is remarkable

May i learn how to
honor the lives of all my relations
And live in right relations with
my brothers and sisters
Thank you to the sacred deer
Thank you to the elders who have passed on this wisdom
