Thank you Sister Moon

Today I mark the passing of time by the
Full Moons

As a child
I measured time by
what grade I was in school-
As a farmer-
I measured by the seasons-
Each summer was remembered by the
amount of water for irrigating, and the
calves that were born that year, the
size of the harvest, or
what building was built that summer
As a mother I remember the years by
my children’s births and their ages

Now I look back over time by the passing of each
Full Moon –
With each moon I remember-
Who did I pray with?
What sacred land did my bare feet stand upon while
I gazed up at the full moon’s beauty?
What ceremony did I co-create?
What lover did I worship the Goddess with?
What were my sacred prayers?
What lessons were learned?
And in the dark shadows of the moon phases-
With each New Moon
What seeds of intentions did I sew?
What was cleared out of the shadows of my consciousness?

I am grateful for my connection with the Moon,
her holy temple and
her connection with the Goddess
She is a beautiful Teacher
Filled with wisdom, knowledge and truth –

Sister Moon
Thank you for
shining your beauty upon me
I honor you
I love you
I am grateful
