A few nights ago I went to a Holiday party and my friend introduced me, “This is my friend Ali. She holds space.”
What does it mean to hold space? To hold space for someone is to allow them to express themselves fully. You are a witness to them- there is no judgement, no shaming, no controlling, stoping, or altering of their expression. You create a safe and sacred space for them to be free and open. I prefer being called a ‘space holder’ rather than a healer. In my opinion, the person heals themself, the universe does the healing, the breath does the healing. My job is simply to be a witness, to allow spirit to move, and help guide it.

One client who came to a breath work circle of mine said this about holding space, “I had heard the term ‘holding space’ for years. You were the first person to show me that it could be done. Thank you!”

It is an honor for me to get to hold space for you.  Thank you for showing up, being vulnerable, and trusting me to help you on your healing journey.

Love,

Ali
