The ability to heal oneself stems from the ability to love oneself. As we open ourselves to love, we allow the energy of the universe to enter our bodies and heal us.

Can it really be that simple? But there are so many diseases and ailments that affect human kind?

“No matter what the problem, the main issue to work on is loving the self. This is the ‘magic wand’ that dissolves problems.” – Louise Hay You Can Heal Your Life

So regardless of what afflicts you physically, emotionally, mentally, I bring the opportunity to look at how you love yourself. Are you embracing and loving what blocks you? Or are you resenting, judging and hiding from those blocks? To love oneself is to accept oneself in the present exactly how they are.

“It is impossible to really love yourself unless you have self-approval and self-acceptance. This means no criticism whatsoever. “ Louise Hay You Can Heal Your Life

If you are feeling that you do not love yourself that is ok. There are lots of ways to cultivate self-love. I have at times in my life been completely shut down to self-love and through actively working on it, I was able to cultivate lots of self-love.

Affirmations

Our word is our power. When we are speaking and thinking negatively about ourselves, we our giving our power away to that negativity. On the contrary, when we are thinking and speaking loving and kind words to ourselves we are cultivating a loving environment for our soul.

The best way to start is to set your watch or phone to chime every hour on the hour. When you hear this, take a moment to stop what you are doing and give yourself a hug. Say, “I love you,” while hugging yourself. If you have children or a partner, have them do this with you and then give them a hug and tell them that you love them. This is so simple, it takes only a minute to do and a week or two of this and you will begin to feel like a different person. I have found that this simple practice breaks down the walls of resistance and opens a person up to receive love.

“Nothing in your life is going to bear fruit until you learn to love yourself and make contact with your heart and the love that flows through it.  You have to learn to feel love for yourself.” David Elliott Healing

Mirror work

For the next week commit to stopping and looking yourself in the eyes and saying, “I love you,” to yourself every time you pass a mirror. This may be in the bathroom while washing your hands, while you brush your teeth or as you go into your room to get something. The more you do this, the more compassion and love for yourself will grow. If you continue with this practice you may even find yourself falling so in love with yourself that you develop butterflies in your stomach when looking deep into your own eyes.

Gratitude

Commit to writing down three things you are grateful for about yourself for the next week. You may want to do this when you first wake up in the morning or as the last thing you do while getting into bed at night. Push yourself to seeing your contributions to the world, your strengths. Open your mind to your weaknesses and begin to embrace them and see what they are there to teach you. As you can begin to love even your so called flaws, that is when true self love and healing can blossom in your world.

Nurture

Spend at least 15 minutes a day giving to you. This can be time in meditation, doing yoga, taking a bath, playing music. Whatever it is that you love to do, that makes you feel alive, connected to spirit, beautiful. Plan this time into your calendar so that no matter what, you ensure that you will give yourself this time. Often we are so busy taking care of others and just getting by in life that we forget to give to ourselves. As you begin to value and love yourself more, you will feel more comfortable taking time to nurture yourself.

If you would like to continue growing your self-love you are welcome to contact me for a Breathing Session. I will be happy to work with you and help facilitate you breathing into your love, your divine self, your true essence.
